The following images are circulating by email and on the internet. They purport to show a letter from Queen Sirikit to Napas Na Pombejra, congratulating her on the open letter she wrote in May this year attacking the CNN coverage of the military crackdown on the red shirt protesters in Bangkok. (Bangkok Pundit’s analysis of the letter is here.) I presume the middle image is the purported occasion on which the purported letter was presented to Napas [see update below].

I cannot confirm that the letter is authentic (and I would be very happy to prominently publish any evidence, or official statement, that it is not). However, given that it is generating some interest I am happy to give New Mandala readers an opportunity to comment on its authenticity or otherwise.
