Susan Upton from the Department of Economics and International Development at The University of Bath has sent through some interesting notes from Giles Ji Ungpakorn’s recent talk in Oxford. She has typed up three documents. The first deals with the statement distributed before Giles’ talk. The second gives an overview of the talk itself and the third is Susan’s notes on the question and answer session at the end of the evening.
The first document begins with Susan’s observation that Oxford is:
An interesting place to hold a meeting of this kind, and I wonder why Giles chose such a place, one of the most elitist institutions of the UK, and one where he would surely be met with most opposition considering the class of Thai students that study there.
Thanks to Susan for making these available.
