Next week there will be a discussion of academic blogging at which I will make a short presentation. There will also be a presentation from the East Asia Forum team, and an opportunity for questions and discussion. Readers in Canberra may like to attend.
Seminar: Academic Blogging in the College of Asia and the Pacific
Hedley Bull Centre, Room 109
Tuesday May 5th
3pm-4pm
The College of Asia and the Pacific hosts a number of important blogging initiatives, including New Mandala, which focuses on mainland Southeast Asia, and East Asia Forum, which deals with public policy and economics in East Asia, the Pacific and globally.
In this seminar and discussion, the principal College bloggers will describe their experiences with the development of the medium and its impact, and will speak about how these websites can be mobilised to the College’s academic and research purpose. These technologies allow enhanced interaction with academic colleagues around the world, permit direct communication with an important public audience and extend the College’s reach through traditional media.
The aim is to provide an opportunity for questions and dialogue on these developments and how they can be related to academic rewards.
Refreshments will be provided so it would be helpful if you could RSVP to [email protected] so that we can cater adequately for everyone who can join us.
