A very useful summary of current developments in Burma, from a health perspective, is available at a regularly updated blog called “HIV Information for Myanmar”. It is a clearing house for information and reports on this crucial issue and there is new material posted almost every day.
The blog’s consistent efforts to get information on HIV and AIDS in to the public domain is to be commended.
In places that remain beyond the reach of the blogosphere, or phones, or even basic roads, getting health information to the people who need it can be a difficult task. In parts of Burma where I have been recently, creative health professionals have gone to great lengths to educate and inform. Even if you can’t read Jinghpaw, the message of this poster is pretty clear. It was produced by Doctors without Borders in The Netherlands.
