Nava Nuraniyah is a PhD scholar at the Department of Political and Social Change, ANU. Her research focuses on how Islamist opposition movements respond to political repression in Indonesia. From 2015 to early 2020, she was an analyst at the Jakarta-based Institute for Policy Analysis of Conflict (IPAC), where she conducted extensive research on violent extremism, communal conflicts, gender and terrorism, and Islamist activism in Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines.
