Dr. Kearrin Sims is a Lecturer in Development Studies at James Cook University. His research in Laos is primarily focused on issues of development and social justice, as well as transnational connectivity and China’s growing influence in Southeast Asia. Kearrin is the International Relations Review Editor for Asian Studies Review; an Executive Committee member of the Development Studies Association of Australia; and Treasurer of the Association of Mainland Southeast Asia Scholars.
