Fanzura Banu is Research Officer at the Regional Social and Cultural Studies Programme at the ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute. She is also Associate Editor of SOJOURN: Journal of Social Issues in Southeast Asia.

Kevin Zhang is Research Officer in the Malaysian Studies Programme at the ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute. His research interests concern regime change and democratisation with a focus on the Southeast Asian region. He completed his MSc Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), with his Master’s dissertation exploring the relations between community projects and the defeat of Barisan Nasional’s six decade rule in Malaysia.
