Bhatara Ibnu Reza is a PhD Candidate in Faculty of Law of the University of New South Wales, where he is researching civilian involvement in state defence.
After practising as a lawyer and journalist, Bhatara joined IMPARSIAL, the Indonesian Human Rights Monitor, as a researcher since November 2002. On October 2011, he became an Operational Director in the same institution.
He is also a visiting lecturer at several universities around Jakarta, teaching international law and international human rights mostly in the Department of International Relations.
Bhatara Ibnu Reza is also an Expert Member and Spokeperson of the Indonesian Civil Society Coalition for the International Criminal Court and a Member and Resource Person for the Executive Committee of the Anti-Death Penalty Asia Network (ADPAN).
